Maura Budzynska

Maura Budzynska teaches at HeartsOpenPower, and brings something the school would otherwise lack: a trained eye for the body as it actually behaves.

Her training

Maura is trained in HOP, in physiotherapy, and in pain science. Held together, those three make for a particular kind of teacher — one who can follow the inner work of the method and, at the same time, speak accurately about tissue, load, nerve and the way pain is constructed rather than simply suffered.

For anyone whose difficulty lives in the body — chronic pain, fear of movement, a nervous system that has learned to stay on guard — this combination matters. The lightest touch is not only a manner; it is a way of not adding to what already hurts.

Teaching

Maura has been teaching for three years.

She works in English, French, Polish and Spanish — the widest reach of anyone here, and often the difference between being understood and being translated.
